Description

The Communications, Information and Navigation Office (CINO) at the Applied Research Laboratory (ARL) is looking for motivated and talented individuals to join our Administrative Support Team. The position will provide primary assistance on a wide variety of moderately complex business and financial operations and will directly support the 4th floor/offsite personnel. In addition, the position provides backup to the Administrative Support Coordinator and will assist the Associate Director and Deputy of CINO when the coordinator is out. Responsibilities include: work independently to plan, organize, coordinate, and oversee CINO activities and events; assist in the preparation of reports and memoranda; handle and generate classified information; maintain office files and calendar; arrange high volumes of international and domestic travel and meetings; facilitate communications within the division and Lab, as well as external communication; manage office resources and supplies; plan and coordinate internal and external events and visits by sponsors and visitors; and assist with requisition/purchasing paperwork and coordinate candidate reviews. This job will be filled as a level 2, or level 3, depending upon the successful candidate's competencies, education, and experience. Typically requires a High School diploma or higher plus one year of related experience, or an equivalent combination of education and experience for a level 2. Additional experience and/or education and competencies are required for higher level jobs. Knowledge of Microsoft Office products (Word, PowerPoint, Excel, and Outlook) and standard office procedures is required. Excellent interpersonal and communication skills are required. Knowledge of security procedures and requirements, the ERS travel system, EBUY, and Workday, and ARLink is preferred. You must be a U.S. Citizen to apply. Candidates selected will be subject to a government security investigation. Employment with the Applied Research Laboratory will require successful completion of a pre-employment drug screen. This is a fixed-term appointment funded for one year from date of hire with possibility of re-funding.
