Penn State Behrend is seeking an in studio board operator for WPSE AM 1450/FM 107.1, a commercially licensed radio station operated by the college. The station provides 24-hour business and financial news as well as commentaries by regional business leaders. In addition, the station also does live, play-by-play coverage of local high school sports and Penn State Behrend sporting events. The board operator will be responsible for managing the sports broadcasts by communicating with the play-by-play talent, manually inserting commercials at designated times during the event and successfully returning the station to regular programming at the conclusion of each sports event. These duties fall under the supervision of the station’s General Manager and also involve coordination with the station’s Traffic and Programming Coordinator. Typical Education and Experience Requirements: Typically requires radio board operating experience. Additional Preferred Education, Experience, or Certifications: The successful candidate will demonstrate a professional demeanor; strong attention to detail; a conscientious approach to work, and a high degree of reliability to ensure on-time coverage of board operation.
