Description

The Penn State Gender Equity Center is seeking an Education and Advocacy Coordinator. The Education and Advocacy Coordinator will assist with general outreach programs for students, faculty and staff, and specialize in assisting with Greek Life, Title IX, and peer education programming. The coordinator will solicit program requests and will design, facilitate and assess outreach efforts related to campus climate issues including sexual violence, relationship violence, and stalking. The coordinator will also assist with office coverage, student accommodations and accompaniment in collaboration with direct service staff. Typically requires a Master's degree or higher plus one year of related experience, or an equivalent combination of education and experience. Previous work in higher education is preferred. Familiarity with Title IX, Clery Act and VAWA is also preferred. This position requires evening and occasional weekend work. The successful candidate will demonstrate ability to engage in respectful dialogue around challenging issues, to work with sensitive issues in a confidential manner, and to build and maintain positive rapport with stakeholders. This is a fixed-term appointment funded for one year from date of hire with an excellent possibility of re-funding.
