Description

Serve as the primary reception staff member in the department suite. Answer phones, greet visitors, and provide information as necessary. Provide administrative support to the Athletics Director, Sports Information Director, Coaches, and other members of the department as needed. Maintain Athletic event master schedules; disseminate information to other departments as necessary. Manage event income including ticket and concession revenues, deposit and reconcile monies received from community pool pass program. Maintain inventory and order/purchase office supplies and place orders for department services. Maintain NCAA compliance files and databases. Gather information and compile reports for the faculty athletics representative. Produce and track competition agreements with opponent institutions. Assist with the planning and preparation for Penn State Altoona sport camps and clinics. Assist with compliance issues related to youth programs. Typically requires a High School diploma or higher plus one year of related experience, or an equivalent combination of education and experience. Knowledge of Penn State policies and systems (IBIS, Lion PATH, ERS) preferred. Demonstrate and foster a positive attitude. Practice positive and creative approaches to problem solving issues facing the department, evaluate and recommend changes and or improvements to increase the quality of processes, procedures, and policies of the athletics program. The ability to maintain confidentiality, coordinate several projects simultaneously, prioritize tasks, and provide excellent customer service is essential. This is a fixed-term appointment funded for one year from date of hire with an excellent possibility of re-funding.
