Penn State Brandywine, located in Media, PA, is seeking a Coordinator of Athletics Programs (Athletic Recruiting, Retention and Alumni Support Services). The candidate who fills this position will be responsible for all aspects of recruiting, retention and alumni support for all 16 varsity programs. The Coordinator will supervise the recruiting operation of the Athletic Department within the PSUAC, USCAA and NCAA guidelines. They will implement retention efforts and assist the Development Office in creating and serving on the Brandywine Athletics Alumni Board. Responsibilities will include: establishing and maintaining working relationships with all functional areas on campus; establishing programs and procedures for athletic recruiting; training coaches and staff members on the recruiting systems, programs and software utilized in the department; monitoring and reporting the status of the department’s recruiting efforts; coordinating all site visits by prospective athletes. Execute annual freshman seminar, conduct academic monitoring reports; Aide in the planning of annual events: Athletic Orientation, Dine with the Pride, Night with the Pride, End of year banquet; Support alumni association and stay connected with all alumni. This position may also involve coaching responsibilities. In addition, this position must provide occasional assistance with athletic event setups which requires the ability to lift up to 35 pounds with or without accommodation and frequent reaching, bending, etc. Typical work schedule includes standard hours (8:00 a.m. - 5:00 p.m.) Monday through Friday with night and weekend work as required. Typically requires a Bachelor's degree or higher plus two years of related experience, or an equivalent combination of education and experience. Knowledge of the Penn State admissions process is a plus. This position requires a thorough knowledge of the Front Rush recruiting software, a working knowledge of the sports represented at Brandywine and a familiarity with all the high school athletic departments in Delaware and Chester County. CPR/AED certification required or must be obtained within 60 days of hire. Experience working in an collegiate athletic department required. This is a fixed-term appointment funded for one year from date of hire with excellent possibility of re-funding.
