Penn State York is seeking an energetic, motivated, team-orientated Admissions Counselor to recruit a diverse, highly talented body of undergraduate students. Responsible to the Director of Enrollment Services, this position will serve as the primary counselor for transfer students while also working extensively with all prospective students as a representative of Penn State University and Penn State York. In this role, the Counselor will perform such duties as: Interview prospective applicants and parents about admission procedures, admit, refer, or deny application for undergraduate admissions, conduct recruiting visits at local community colleges and high schools, communicate admissions policies to internal and external stakeholders, perform weekly on-campus prospect presentations, coordinate special programs, and serve on committees. Typically requires a Bachelor's degree or higher plus one year of related experience, or an equivalent combination of education and experience. Qualifications: Excellent verbal, written, presentation, and organizational skills are essential, with the ability to manage concurrent projects and work independently in a fast-paced environment. Demonstrated high level of customer service is required. Proficiency with Microsoft Office, experience with the use of a CRM and admission management systems (preferably Peoplesoft Campus Solutions, or similar) is beneficial. Overnight travel, evening, and weekend work are required. This position requires you operate a motor vehicle as part of your job duties. A valid driver's license and successful completion of a motor vehicle records check will be required in addition to standard background checks.
