Description

This position is in the lab of Dr. Nazia Raja-Khan, an Associate Professor and NIH-funded investigator in the field of mindfulness. This position will be responsible for planning, organizing and directing the implementation, maintenance, and oversight of clinical trial protocols and procedures, including collection of human samples as outlined in the protocol. The individual will work in coordination with the PI and the research team to develop trial-specific protocols and procedures. Will also be responsible for the oversight of sample processing, data collection, database entry and accurate record keeping of study related information. Will assist in writing study proposals for submission to the Human Subjects Protection Office/Institutional Review Board (IRB) and communicate with the IRB. Will collaborate with other research staff within and external to the unit/project to review, modify, improve research protocols and be responsible for conducting the human studies as outlined in the study protocols. Candidate preferably has experience with diabetes studies. Other Requirements: Ensure that IRB and related protocols are carried out correctly and that all records are kept as required by the institution policies, including all documentation, administrative, and regulatory issues. Works with human subjects and other team members in a research team environment. Typically requires a Bachelor's degree or higher, or an equivalent combination of education and experience. Additional related experience preferred. This is a fixed-term appointment funded for one year from date of hire with excellent possibility of re-funding.
