Description

Responsible to the Associate Dean for the Smeal Office of International Programs for assistance with the organization, coordination, and development of international program activities including but not limited to: consulting with and assisting students with study abroad program information, program selection, and course selections for education abroad choices. Document those meetings in Starfish advising system. Guide students in completing the application and fulfilling the requirements of the International Business Minor. Assist with the management, review, and implementation of the International Business Minor within Smeal’s undergraduate curriculum. Develop brochures, announcements, proposals, and other documents dealing with study abroad programs, international business and the International Business Minor. Provide orientation and information sessions to Smeal students in order to expose and entice students to include education abroad opportunities as part of their Smeal programs. Maintain the web pages for the Smeal Office of International Programs. Assist the Associate Dean to achieve the strategic goals of internationalization of the Smeal College. Experience abroad and/or experience in the field of Higher Education/International Education strongly preferred. Excellent oral and written communications skills required. Knowledge of Penn State’s IT environment including LionPath, Starfish, Studio Abroad, 25 Live, and Interviewer is advantageous. This is a temporary appointment from approximately January 7, 2019 through April 26, 2019. Will work approximately 20 - 40 hours/week Monday through Friday. Graduate students encouraged to apply.
