Penn State is seeking a dynamic, self-directed, and experienced IT professional to join the College of Nursing’s Information Technology Department as the Information Technology Manager. This position requires a high focus on customer service and team leadership to support the areas of desk-side computing technologies and multi-media, as well as excellent oral and written communication skills to communicate complex information, a strong work ethic, an intrinsic desire to learn, a foundation of continuous improvement, and an ability to effectively work with and/or lead teams within the college’s IT department, Enterprise Information Technology, Faculty, Staff, external stakeholders, etc., all in support of the college's instruction, research and outreach missions. Additional responsibilities include collaboration with the college’s Simulation Lab leadership to explore and implement emerging technologies, technology oversight/support for research grants/contracts and building on current technology to deliver resident instruction from University Park and Hershey campuses to other Penn State commonwealth campuses over Zoom video conferencing. Typically requires a Bachelor's degree or higher, or an equivalent combination of education and experience. A strong knowledge base in technologies such as desk-side computing hardware, video conference platforms, network topology, vendor software management, virtual reality (VR), multimedia software, artificial intelligence, mobile device management (MDM) software, and active directory is highly preferred. Experience with medical technology including telehealth, patient simulation, electronic medical records, or Level 3 and 4 research data is a plus. This is a fixed-term appointment funded for one year from date of hire with excellent possibility of re-funding.
