The Black School of Business at Penn State Erie, The Behrend College, seeks a student for our Graduate Assistantship program. This assistantship provides full tuition as well as a monthly stipend for graduate students admitted into the program. This position will assist the Director of the Economic Research Institute of Erie with academic research and community outreach activities. They will work independently and in a team environment under supervision of the Director. Essential functions include but are not limited to: collecting and compiling data, maintaining databases, overseeing updates on the ERIE Leading Index and ERIE Guide to the Erie Economy, assisting faculty in their research and preparation for presentation to the local community, detailed data analysis, organization of the ERIE Conference, responding to community requests for data or information, website maintenance and conducting primary research under the direction of the Director. This position also manages undergraduate research assistants and supports preparation of grant applications for research support. The successful candidate will be proficient in Excel, Word, PowerPoint, internet navigation, and demonstrate the ability to work with data and do economic and/or statistical analysis. Knowledge of Microsoft Access, EViews, Dreamweaver, and other statistical and web authoring software is a plus. Graduate Assistants must be enrolled at Penn State as Graduate Students working towards advanced degrees in Business Administration, Manufacturing Management, Professional Accounting or Project Management.
