Description

The Department of Pharmacology at Penn State College of Medicine invites applications for a tenure-track faculty position at the Assistant Professor level in the area of Synthetic Biology and Biological Systems Engineering. The successfully candidate will establish a research program pursuing the engineering of novel biological systems at the cellular, tissue, and/or physiological levels. Candidates should have a Ph.D., M.D. and/or equivalent degree, with interdisciplinary backgrounds in physics, bioengineering, and computer science are strongly encouraged to apply. Our faculty members have active collaborations with scientists at the main campus of Pennsylvania State University located in University Park (State College, PA) that are facilitated by daily shuttles between Hershey and University Park. Hershey, PA has a college town atmosphere with superb public schools, a vigorous cultural and entertainment environment, and a variety of housing choices within minutes of Penn State College of Medicine and Penn State Milton S. Hershey Medical Center. The town is only minutes from the state capital in Harrisburg and there is easy access by driving or public transportation to Philadelphia, Baltimore, Washington DC, and New York.
