The College of Engineering is seeking a talented and energetic Senior Research Communications Strategist with research experience to identify communications and marketing needs for the Department of Architectural Engineering. Individual will be charged with developing, planning, and implementing various integrated marketing and communications initiatives such as website content development, social networking, e-mail marketing, e-newsletters, brochures, feature articles, press releases; heavy emphasis on creating, researching, and writing science/research stories on Department of Architectural Engineering activities; generating and executing communication strategies and techniques for connecting with targeted stakeholder groups, including students, faculty, corporations, and alumni; project-managing, marketing, and promoting events; analyzing results of communications efforts and using them to improve future efforts; making recommendations for future marketing efforts; overseeing marketing budgets for assigned units. Additionally, this individual will manage the overall communication department's science/research communications efforts, providing story development support, working with University Strategic Communications to amplify College stories in global publications, University social media, etc. Requires extensive relationship building in order to foster collaboration and coordination among assigned departments, Dean’s Office administration, and other Communications Team members. The successful candidate will exhibit excellent communication, interpersonal, and organizational skills, attention to detail and a dedication to quality and customer service. Requires a self-starter who will be able to work independently with creative freedom as well as within guidelines, who gathers energy from being part of an innovative and dynamic group, and who has the ability to set priorities and handle multiple projects from start to finish. Strong project management, organizational and interpersonal skills required. Typically requires a Bachelor's degree or higher plus six years of related experience, or an equivalent combination of education and experience. Working knowledge of Microsoft Office; and basic knowledge of HTML, Adobe CS Suite (Dreamweaver, Photoshop, InDesign), and publication layout skills are preferred. Basic knowledge of photography and videography preferred. Candidate should provide resume and cover letter with application. This is a fixed-term appointment funded for one year from date of hire with excellent possibility of re-funding.
