WPSU Penn State seeks a Financial and Compliance Analyst (Accountant 3) to join its Finance team in a dynamic and creative work environment. WPSU is a PBS and NPR member station, licensed through the Penn State Board of Trustees. WPSU’s mission is to spark discovery, enrich learning, and strengthen community through vibrant public media. This position supports our mission by helping to ensure compliance with Corporation for Public Broadcasting (CPB) and Federal Communications Commission (FCC) requirements. A key component of this compliance is assisting with the creation of annual audited financial statements in accordance with GAAP principles. Also included is completing CPB benchmark reporting, communicating required CPB Anadisclosures, and facilitating FCC reporting. This position will also support overall station operations by preparing forecasts, budgets and journal entries and assisting with post-award reporting and year-end close. Responsibilities also include coordinating external contracts approval requests through Risk Management and helping to ensure WPSU complies with Penn State policies and procedures. Also act as backup to the Financial Manager. Typically requires a Bachelor's degree or higher plus four years of related experience, or an equivalent combination of education and experience. An Accounting degree is preferred. Successful candidates should demonstrate a high level of attention to detail, excellent organization skills, a customer service focus, excellent written or oral communication skills, and the ability to work with diverse audiences. Experience with effectively using Excel, IBIS and Data Warehouse strongly preferred. This is a fixed-term appointment funded for one year from date of hire with an excellent possibility of re-funding.
