Description

Oversee the daily office activities for the Mechanical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering Technology and the Master of Science in Mechanical Engineering programs. Provide support to Program Chair and Associate Program Chair for daily program activities. Compose, proofread and edit letters, memos and reports, proposals, etc. Answer/screen telephone calls, greet customers/visitors and assist them with information or referrals. Schedule/maintain calendar of appointments, meetings, and travel itineraries. Create and oversee confidential student files, records, databases and reports. Act as point of contact for student inquiries; provide information, resolve issues or refer as appropriate. Ensure student files are accurate and up-to-date. Assign and maintain adviser and advisee lists. Generate, adjust and substitute course exceptions on degree audits as directed. Manage department funds for two budgets with numerous cost centers as well as faculty research budgets; process budget revisions and assist with budget preparation and projections. Process various forms in IBIS. Generate, prepare and maintain financial reports and spreadsheets for processing of payments through ERS. Manage and maintain software licenses, class schedules, book orders, course syllabi and supply orders. Provide support to faculty in their outreach and affiliations, including preparations of mailings, meeting arrangements, event planning, and travel arrangements. Coordinate collection of data for ABET; attend meetings, record, compose and distribute minutes. Support School of Science, Engineering and Technology with school events. Monitor the security and access of Support School of Science, Engineering and Technology labs. Typically requires a High School diploma or higher plus two years of related experience, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
