Description

The Edna Bennett Pierce Prevention Research Center (PRC) at Penn State is seeking a Financial Assistant to provide assistance to the PRC Financial Coordinator and administrative team. The PRC is a well-established and highly regarded interdisciplinary research center comprised of faculty members, research associates, research support staff, postdoctoral fellows, and graduate students. The PRC is a vibrant, interdisciplinary research center devoted to improving the health and well-being of children, youth, and families. The PRC conducts and leverages research to create programs designed to prevent poor outcomes and promote wellness. Responsibilities include, but are not limited to: Input and review of purchasing card charges; assist with reconciliation issues; input and review eBuy transactions, IDCCs, SRFCs and direct bills for correct accounting information; manage CRFN for administrative area; perform cash handling functions; handle merchant settlements; reconcile cash accounts; monitor restricted accounts; file and/or image documents as directed by supervisor; assist staff in supported units with basic inquiries and direct more complex issues to Financial Coordinator. This position will also serve as first point of contact for the PRC, duties include: Order supplies and maintain inventory, manage conference room calendars and 25Live; coordinate internal PRC events. Typically requires a High School diploma or higher plus three years of related experience, or an equivalent combination of education and experience. The preferred candidate should be self-motivated, detail-oriented, and have the ability to work independently. This is a fixed-term appointment funded for one year from date of hire with excellent possibility of refunding.
