Description

Archives and Special Collections at the Penn State Harrisburg Library is seeking an undergraduate student to assist with the day-to-day activities in our department. Responsibilities include reader services (helping patrons register, paging and copying materials for patrons, and assisting with the use of archival materials), organizing and/or processing collections, data entry, digitization, as well as assisting the archivist, archives staff, and archival users with various special projects. The position is for 15-20 hours a week. Ability to interact and communicate with patrons. Working knowledge of computers and office equipment. Ability to lift boxes (40 lbs. or less) and other special materials. Willingness to learn about and adhere to policies regarding the care and handling of special collections. Successful applicants must be dependable, flexible, and dedicated to providing excellence customer service to archives’ readers and visitors.
