Description

WPSU Penn State is seeking an energetic, dynamic and creative individual to fill an open position with our award-winning sports production team. A passion for sports, a commitment to excellence, the ability to work collaboratively, and a willingness to work hard are critical to success in this position. The Producer/Director will work under the direction of the Executive Producer and Lead Producer within the sports unit to design, conceptualize and create content for a wide variety of distribution platforms such as broadcast television, web, and live events in support of Penn State’s Intercollegiate Athletics program. The Producer/Director will mentor and work directly with other production support staff, including students and interns. This job will be filled as a level 2, or level 3, depending upon the successful candidate's competencies, education, and experience. Typically requires a Bachelor's degree or higher plus one year of related experience, or an equivalent combination of education and experience for a level 2. Additional experience and/or education and competencies are required for higher level jobs. A successful Producer/Director will demonstrate strong organizational skills, creative storytelling ability and a contemporary visual style. The flexibility to work non-traditional hours and travel as needed are critical to this position. Strong editing skills on non-linear platforms are important. Additional skills at videography, multimedia, and working with clients on media projects are preferred. The Producer/Director must have an appreciation for working with diverse audiences. Applicants should be prepared to share a demo reel of past work. This is a fixed-term appointment funded for one year from date of hire with an excellent possibility of re-funding.
