Description

Penn State Harrisburg’s School of Behavioral Sciences and Education seeks applicants for a fixed-term, non-tenure track Clinical Faculty position in the Accelerated 2nd Degree Nursing Program. This is a full-time, benefits eligible position with teaching responsibility possible across all three semesters (Fall, Spring, Summer). This position is effective August 2018 / Fall Semester 2018. Primary responsibilities will include clinical instruction in multiple agencies and simulation instruction, both across multiple courses. Other responsibilities include advising students and participating on committees. Area of interest is the entire Med-Surg spectrum, from Nursing Fundamentals through Advanced Med-Surg/Critical Care, as well as sub-specialty areas, for instance gero/long-term care/hospice, community health/homecare, and mental health. The successful candidate must have a Master’s degree in Nursing, with preference for an earned Doctoral degree (or made significant progress in a current Doctorate program), and have a current Pennsylvania RN license (or be eligible for obtaining). Current clinical practice is essential. At least three years of recent clinical teaching experience, including simulation lab teaching experience, with pre-licensure RN students is preferred. Experience with 2nd degree population is preferred. Candidates must be student-centered, committed to maintaining currency in Nursing, and open to innovative program delivery using technology.
