Description

The Translational Brain Research Center and the Department of Neurology at the Penn State University College of Medicine are looking for a postdoctoral scholar (PhD, MD, or M.D/PhD) to participate in research focused on the effects of environmental exposures to metal fumes on neurodegeneration and the relationship to neurodegenerative diseases. The position offers the opportunity to gain training and perform research in a dynamic, productive, and collegial environment studying problems of human health importance. The ideal candidate will have background in one of the basic or clinical toxicology and/or neurosciences, or environmental health, and either experience with magnetic resonance imaging (MRI) techniques, or quantitative data analysis and statistical skills and a desire to gain training in MRI techniques. Candidates with the ability and desire to develop an independent research career will be given special consideration. The fellowship is a one year appointment initially effective July 1, 2018 or as agreed upon, and is renewable annually upon mutual agreement.
