The Marketing Strategy Specialist is part of the College Marketing and Communications Unit and is responsible for consulting with clients within the College of Agricultural Sciences to develop data-driven marketing strategies, which includes managing the planning and oversight of strategic marketing campaigns encompassing print and electronic communications, public relations, and event management, and other channels to reach defined business objectives. This position also leads cross-functional teams to create and maintain consumer-driven print and electronic marketing campaigns and tactics encompassing multi-media/print collateral, email, direct mail, website/digital, search engine marketing, partnerships/sponsorships, and other strategic print/electronic initiatives and new media tactics. This position also reviews marketing campaign materials, works with campaign partners, manages campaign budgets, and monitors marketing effectiveness. Also responsible for commission, design, and conduct marketing research of students, alumni, customers, marketplace and competitive environment to inform marketing strategy and tactical development. This position should develop a clear understanding of audiences and their needs through a review of consumer information and the results of market research. The Marketing Strategy Specialist will serve as the primary contact between the client and Ag Communications and Marketing. Position must maintain regular contact with internal and external partners to provide ongoing marketing support and job status updates. This position will work heavily with clients whose key audiences include current students, future students, alumni, development, and other key stakeholders for the College of Agriculture Sciences, and this position must have a passion for understanding these audiences and their specific needs related to the College. This position requires strong marketing experience and proven experience in marketing strategy and campaign development, management and analysis. In addition, position should have experience with marketing research and analysis to develop strategic marketing plans that align with business objectives. Experience with marketing technology tools, such as social media platforms, web analytics, email service providers, and CMS platforms preferred, but not required. This position requires a high level of self-direction and personal accountability and ability to work in a deadline focused, dynamic environment, and consistently produce deliverables within agreed upon timelines. In addition, candidate must be highly organized with excellent time management skills, and the ability to shift priorities and multi-task in order to meet aggressive deadlines and should constantly strive to rapidly learn and take advantage of new concepts, technologies and ecommerce/digital best practices. Typically requires a Bachelor's degree or higher plus six years of related experience, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
