Housing operations, a unit of Auxiliary and Business services, under the Office of the Senior Vice President for Finance and Business is excited to welcome candidates for the position of Assistant Manager. As such, the successful candidate will be charged to implement the following: coordinate daily activities and work schedules of staff and technical service employees, maintain daily availability to students through office hours and presence in building, as well as provide information, solutions, and recommendations to students. Additionally, this individual will be required to: inspect facilities and work being performed to ensure standards are being met and maintained, oversee proper care of equipment, furnishings, and buildings, and initiate work orders for repairs and follow through to completion. Further the successful candidate will prepare for conferences, programs, and special events, counsel employees on job performance, discipline, grievance and related matters, maintain employee records, area records, supplies, and equipment, enter and retrieve data via computer software systems, and requisition supplies and equipment. As a team leader, the successful candidate will be responsible for interviewing, hiring, training, and supervising technical service and wage employees. It is imperative that the successful candidate be able to effectively interact with diverse audiences, understand the value of creating and sustaining an inclusive work environment, and engage with others in a professional and respectful manner regardless of their personal background or belief. NOTE: The person accepting this job will be required to work Saturday and/or Sunday on a rotating schedule. Some evening work may also be required.
