Penn State Shenango is in the processes of reestablishing its intercollegiate athletic department and is now seeking to hire an energetic and committed Head Cheerleading Coach. The Coach is expected to establish a Club Cheerleading program at the Penn State Shenango Campus. In Addition, the Head Cheerleading Coach will provide leadership, plan, organize, and be responsible for a comprehensive intercollegiate cheerleading as well as present an enthusiastic professional looking Spirit squad to represent the campus and the entire athletic program. Intercollegiate coaching or cheering experience preferred. The position of Head Cheerleading Coach, will aid with the athletic programs to ensure that the student-athletes participate in safe and positive atmosphere. This Coach will be charged with the overall athletics “Spirit” program to include supervising, training and directing all cheerleader activity that directly relate to school spirit events and athletic contests. This position will report directly to the Director of Athletic Operations. Essential job Functions are: Maintain effective communication with athletes, boosters, school administration, staff, students, parents and the community; provides, coaching, leadership, vision, strategic planning to the Penn State Shenango Cheerleading Club; oversee, the entire spirit program and Assistant Coach(es); coaching including the management of each team member’s academic success and skills development; mentoring of athletes, as well as teaching and demonstrating good leadership skills; recruitment and retention of cheer athletes; responsible for budget management and Fund Raising; adhering to the policies set forth by direct supervisors and Athletic Director, as well as Penn State, the PSUAC Conference, USCAA.
