The Associate Director provides leadership for functions of Graduate Enrollment Services including records management, policy and curricular review, data integrity and thesis/dissertation submission. Primary duties include: Oversee the day-to-day functions of the office including supervision of graduate enrollment records staff; develop, implement and oversee projects and change of business processes; become an expert user of the student information system, graduate application, and other internal enterprise systems; review, propose and test modifications and/or enhancements to the student information system; ensure compliance with policies and procedures, approving exceptions to Graduate School policies when appropriate; provide consultation and guidance to faculty, department heads and staff regarding policy; evaluate academic credentials from external institutions and transfer to academic transcript as appropriate; research international institutions for the content and credit equivalency; convert and calculate external credits to Penn State credit hours; stay abreast of transfer practices and institutional and legislative policies that may affect the practice; Review and effectively communicate matters relating to new program proposals; represent; participate in university-wide committees to represent graduate enrollment issues. Requires excellent written and oral communications and interpersonal skills, judgment, attention to detail, diplomacy and negotiating ability. Ability to work effectively and collaboratively across a variety and levels of individuals and groups. Strong commitment to diversity, academic integrity, data-informed decision-making, continuous quality improvement, and distance education. Typically requires a Bachelor's degree or higher (Master's degree preferred) or higher plus four years of related experience, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
