Information Technology Support Specialist
The College of Health and Human Development (CHHD) seeks candidates for the position of IT Support Specialist. Primary duties include consultative and specialized assistance services to faculty, staff, and students in the use and maintenance of computer hardware and software. The position will entail providing support for users in a mixed operating system environment (approximately 80% Windows, 20% Apple) with a combination of in-person and remote support. Identifying, prioritizing, and resolving hardware, software, network and printing problems are routine tasks of this position. This job will be filled as a level 1, or level 2, depending upon the successful candidate's competencies, education, and experience. Typically requires a High School diploma or higher, or an equivalent combination of education and experience for a level 1. Additional experience and/or education and competencies are required for higher level jobs. Must have knowledge of and experience with providing remote support using telephone, e-mail, chat, and common remote support tools (remote desktop, Dameware, Teamviewer), Microsoft Windows 7/8/10, Mac OS, Microsoft Office, and TCP/IP networks. Experience with Active Directory, BigFix, JAMF and statistical packages such as SAS and SPSS are a plus. Excellent interpersonal and communications skills are necessary, as is the ability to work well both independently and with a team. This is a fixed-term appointment funded for one year from date of hire with excellent possibility of re-funding.
