Description

Responsible for processing payments for goods and services, performing routine calculating, posting and varying duties to obtain primary financial data for use in maintaining accounting records. Post details of business transactions, such as allotments, disbursements, deductions from payrolls, pay and expense vouchers, remittances paid and due, checks and claims. May maintain budgets, monitor balances and submit reports to individuals. Prepare and track various budget documents and purchase orders from electronic systems. Resolve purchasing card and purchasing transactions. Extract monthly budget reports from electronic accounting system. Summarize transfer of supply items from the warehouse/initiate monthly billings. Perform budget reconciliation procedures. Proficiency in Microsoft Office preferred. Strong customer service skills, excellent communication, interpersonal and teamwork skills are essential. Must have proven knowledge of financial accounting, be detail oriented, self-motivated and skilled at multitasking. Strong commitment to diversity and inclusion required. Typically requires an Associate's degree or higher plus one year of related experience, or an equivalent combination of education and experience. This is a fixed-term appointment funded for one year from date of hire with excellent possibility of re-funding.
