The Earth and Environmental Systems Institute (EESI) at Penn State has an immediate opening for an Administrative Support Coordinator, Level 4, to provide lead administrative support to the Pennsylvania Space Grant Consortium. Responsibilities include, but are not limited to, administering and managing project budgets; serving as lead for government database reporting; preparing contracts, proposals, subcontracts, cost share commitment, and financial reports; compiling and coordinating research data; processing financial documents and accounting transactions; coordinating purchasing for various projects; updating listservers; working with administrators, faculty and staff of cooperating universities to implement details of each project; acting as liaison with affiliate institutions; scheduling, planning, and coordinating advisory meetings, educational and public outreach events, and educational workshops; assisting Director with program evaluation and preparation of annual reports. In addition, this person oversees some of the work of staff, students, and external consultants. Knowledge of and experience with Penn State’s financial systems (IBIS, ERS, FIT), along with the ability to work independently, are highly desired. Typically requires an Associate's degree or higher plus four years of related experience, or an equivalent combination of education and experience. This is a fixed-term appointment funded for one year from date of hire with excellent possibility of re-funding.
