The Filippelli Institute at the College of the Liberal Arts is seeking a Multimedia Specialist to join our unit. This person will be responsible for working on multiple projects as part of a team with instructional designers, faculty members and other multimedia staff with the goal of developing complex multimedia elements for online, World Campus courses. Candidates must be have advanced skills in graphic arts and be able to show examples of original content they have created as part of their work experience. Candidates must also be flexible and willing to collaborate with instructional designers and faculty to visually represent complex course-related concepts, principles and processes and to ensure their work enhances student learning by incorporating recommended instructional design strategies and best practices. This candidate may also work with other multimedia staff to create interactive features and visuals to enhance video presentations in courses. In addition, this person will be responsible for determining the best formatting and layout for pages within the learning management system that also meet accessibility standards. The ideal candidate will have intermediate knowledge of graphic design software platforms (Adobe Creative Suite preferred), and advanced proficiency in web design/development with end-user experiences in mind (CSS, HTML5), plus excellent verbal and written communications skills. Candidates must be able to think creatively and to clearly articulate their ideas to faculty. Time management skills and ability to manage multiple projects are essential. Basic knowledge of copyright and accessibility is required. Knowledge of Canvas is a plus. Along with a cover letter and resume, applicants are also asked to submit a link to an online portfolio of their work. Review of a portfolio will be required of final candidates. Typically requires an Associate's degree or higher plus two years of related experience, or an equivalent combination of education and experience. This is a fixed-term appointment funded for one year from date of hire with excellent possibility of re-funding.
