The Pennsylvania State University, Altoona College, Division of Arts and Humanities invites applications for a full-time Instructor in Dance with a specialization in Hip Hop. This position supports the Dance Studies Minor at Penn State Altoona, which blends theory and practice. Many of our classes satisfy the General Arts credit requirement for individuals not completing the minor. This position is two-year contract with the possibility of renewal. Penn State Altoona offers a competitive salary and attractive benefits package. The ideal candidate will also have experience teaching in two of the following dance techniques: jazz, tap, African, or ballet, and direct student dance company. They should also possess a strong record of creative work and excellence in undergrad teaching. The successful candidate will teach four courses per semester and contribute to the support of the student Ivyside Dance Ensemble and semester productions. A Master’s degree with university-level teaching experience is required. Applications must consist of a cover letter; a CV (including performance record, teaching experience, previous residencies, training, and the names and contact information of three references); an artistic statement, no more than one page in length; a sample syllabus of the course the applicant would like to teach; a submission of sample of performance, teaching, or choreographic works (no more than three) with accompanying script containing pertinent information on the submitted works in the following order – title, date of performance/teaching, venue of performance/teaching, performers (group – student, professional, community).
