Penn State College of Medicine is partnering with several institutions (Johns Hopkins, University of Pittsburgh, Temple University, Geisinger, and University of Utah) to form a clinical data research network. This network combines electronic health records and patient reported outcome data to study effective treatments for patient-centered outcomes for individuals with atrial fibrillation, idiopathic pulmonary fibrosis, obesity, and other clinical conditions. The Data Analyst Intern will assist with multiple research projects with responsibilities that may include data management and statistical analysis for research questions identified by the investigating team. The Analyst will work closely with all members of the team in the maintenance of the database and integration of this database with other databases. Regularly report to members of the team and attend meetings as required. Maintain confidentiality and HIPPA compliance as well as follow all internal and governmental regulations regarding clinical databases. Maintain knowledge of current regulations and technologies related to the data management functions. Excellent organizational and communication skills, as well as the ability to prioritize tasks and translating research questions into analytical strategies, are critical for this position. The successful candidate will have a demonstrated ability to maintain high standards of accuracy, timeliness, and professionalism. Skills in SAS, Word, and Excel are essential. Typically requires a Bachelor`s degree or higher plus one year of related experience, or an equivalent combination of education and experience. This position is part-time temporary position for 10-24 hours/week.
