Description

The Summer College Opportunity Program in Education (S.C.O.P.E.) invites Penn State students` applications for the position of instructional support assistant. Assistants will provide academic support, study skills coaching, and study hours supervision to S.C.O.P.E. participants and will work under the direct supervision and leadership of the Academic Support Coordinator. Applicants should possess the ability to supervise, engage, motivate, and inspire students; sensitivity to students of diverse backgrounds; commitment to community service, educational equity and social justice. Preference will be given to applicants that are undergraduate (juniors and seniors) and graduate students enrolled in the College of Education; have tutoring or peer counselor work experience; have experience working with child/youth programs; previous experiences working with diverse learners; ability to monitor student academic progression through one-on-one mentoring.
