The Office of the Corporate Controller is seeking an individual to serve as the Manager of Research Accounting to oversee the daily operations to ensure the University’s timely and accurate billing and collection of restricted fund receivables. The successful candidate will oversee the daily accounting activities including establishing and implementing processes, procedures, systems, and standards for the efficient operation of the office. Review and interpret institutional and federal policies to ensure that the University remains in compliance. Advise departments on matters related to the policy and procedures of research administration and make appropriate recommendations. Supervise the management staff of Research Accounting and administer the recruitment and training processes for all positions in the department. Confer with pre-award negotiators on the financial provisions of proposed sponsored awards to ensure the University is able to meet the financial terms and conditions of the contract. Monitor and facilitate the accounts receivable process, including coordinating with research administration staff to resolve delinquent accounts. Prepare various reports and reconciliations related to accounts receivable, expenditures, indirect costs and other ad hoc needs for both internal and external purposes. Receive and process audit requests involving restricted accounts. Typically requires a Bachelor's degree or higher plus eight years of related experience, or an equivalent combination of education and experience. Candidate must have exceptional interpersonal and organizational skills as well as excellent written and verbal communication skills. Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications, particularly MS Word, MS Excel and MS Access is preferred.
