The Event Management Office, as part of the HUB-Robeson Center Department in Student Affairs, manages reservations for meetings and events at the HUB-Robeson Center, and throughout University Park for University departments, Recognized Student Organizations, and non-University clientele. This position is responsible for scheduling and oversight of a wide variety of events utilizing various applications. Job responsibilities include: working directly with students, University staff, and others to schedule events in the HUB-Robeson Center and throughout University Park, reviewing and interpreting University policies regarding campus events to sponsors of scheduled events, receiving and processing requests for space in the HUB-Robeson Center and other designated areas on campus, and entering data in the reservation system (CollegeNet). This position will also assist with other responsibilities that fall under the Event Management Office including program registration, Information Desk operation and acting as front line contact by greeting customers and answering questions from walk-ins, by telephone and email. Typically requires a High School diploma or higher plus one year of related experience, or an equivalent combination of education and experience. Essential competencies for this job include: communication and interpersonal skills together with a strong teamwork commitment; a genuine appreciation for working with diverse audiences; attention to detail; coordinate multiple projects simultaneously, and the ability to multitask to account for shifting priorities and deadlines. Previous customer service and supervisory background is preferred. Must have experience with Microsoft Office applications. Experience with CollegeNet is also desirable. Must be able to maintain a high level of confidentiality, work independently, and be willing to learn new materials and computer programs as needed.
