The Office of Research and Graduate Education is seeking a motivated professional to serve as a facilitator and enabler of faculty efforts to enhance the college’s research portfolio. The successful candidate will work closely with the Associate Dean for Research and Graduate Education to set priorities, design, and implement research initiatives in the College of Agricultural Sciences. This position proactively interfaces and maintains collaborative relationships with individuals at multiple levels of the organization, including interactions within Penn State institutes, centers, and colleges as well as external stakeholders. Responsibilities include: independent planning, initiating, organizing, and facilitating complex projects; coordinating and documenting meetings, workshops and special events; facilitating research communications and marketing, including authorship, design and content management for websites and social media; as well as preparing various communications, publications, presentations, and reports. Must maintain confidential and sensitive information. This job will be filled as a level 1, or level 2, depending upon the successful candidate's competencies, education, and experience. Typically requires a Bachelor's degree or higher plus two years of related experience, or an equivalent combination of education and experience for a level 1. Additional experience and/or education and competencies are required for higher level jobs. Experience with project management and scientific research (in some capacity) is preferred. The successful candidate must possess exemplary interpersonal skills and demonstrate a genuine appreciation in working with diverse audiences. Requires exceptional written and verbal communication skills to communicate with internal and external stakeholders to exchange information, resolve issues or concerns, and coordinate activities. Requires excellent organization skills and time management skills in order to handle multiple tasks and simultaneous deadlines. Familiarity with University budget policies and procedures strongly preferred. Experience with university licensed software, Penn State research tools and databases (Pure, SciVal, SIMS, iTwo), FileMaker, Plone, and social media platforms is preferred.
