The Supply Chain and Information Systems Department is seeking both graduates and undergraduates to serve as Teaching Assistants for the undergraduate management information systems courses in the Fall 2018/Spring 2019 academic year. The courses cover a range of topics from introductory business information systems to upper level courses such as business analytics and enterprise information systems. Undergraduate Teaching Assistants may assist in the grading of exams (under the supervision of a graduate student or professor), quizzes, and homework. Graduate students may grade, and review the grading of undergraduate teaching assistants. Teaching Assistants may grade homework and exams, develop assignments, meet with students, hold office hours, observe and evaluate final presentations. Undergraduate Teaching Assistants are required to have successfully passed the course(s) they would be assisting. Understanding of statics concepts and the use of statistics software, and the development of spreadsheets with Microsoft Excel is recommended. Some familiarity with other data-mining tools such as SPSS-Modeler is desired. Candidates should have an interest in data including database design, SQL, current trends/techniques for capturing and storing unstructured data, and using software such as MySQL and Microsoft Access.
