The Filippelli Institute for e-Education and Outreach in the College of the Liberal Arts has an opening for an instructional designer who will work collaboratively with faculty and our learning design team to design, develop, and maintain top quality online credit courses. Candidates must have an in-depth knowledge of educational and learning design theories and emerging technologies, and experience in developing online courses is highly desired. The successful candidate will have excellent communication and negotiation skills and will be able to effectively impart e-learning best practices and advantages and disadvantages of various pedagogical techniques and principles to faculty. We are looking for someone who will manage projects with a collaborative approach and who works well in a team-based work environment. This job will be filled as a level 2, or level 3, depending upon the successful candidate's competencies, education, and experience. Typically requires a Master's degree or higher plus two years of related experience, or an equivalent combination of education and experience for a level 2. Additional experience and/or education and competencies are required for higher level jobs. Experience using an LMS such as Canvas is preferred. Excellent verbal and written communication skills, as well as strong interpersonal skills, are essential. This is a fixed-term appointment funded for one year from date of hire with excellent possibility of re-funding.
