Description

The Global Programs Application Development team seeks a Database Specialist to provide programming, administrative, and maintenance services for the Directorate of International Student and Scholar Advising (DISSA)’s web application, Sunapsis. This position will report to the Information Technology Manager. The qualified candidate will be the primary developer for Sunapsis for the Global Programs Application Development team. Sunapsis is the international case management system in ColdFusion with a Microsoft SQL Server database backend that enables Global Programs to maintain compliance on reporting to the Department of Homeland Security’s SEVIS (Student and Exchange Visitor Information System) to track and monitor international students and exchange visitors/scholars. This position will assist in helping troubleshoot and customize the Sunapsis application for DISSA in Global Programs (by creating templates and eForm extensions in Sunapsis). They will also provide database administration for all Microsoft SQL Server databases within Global Programs (used by the Global Programs Application Development team for Sunapsis and other applications) and assist, as necessary, with other development projects as assigned. The Database Specialist will have proven expertise to program/administer/maintain Sunapsis, and advanced knowledge of ColdFusion; MS SQL Server databases and SQL queries; CSS, XML, and HTML/JavaScript. Knowledge of Transact-SQL, SSIS packages desirable. Candidates must possess excellent communication and interpersonal skills; must be flexible, organized, analytical, and demonstrate a genuine appreciation in working with diverse audiences. Must be able to work independently as well as in a team environment. Typically requires a Bachelor's degree or higher plus four years of related experience, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
