Description

The Rock Ethics Institute is seeking an efficient, detail-oriented, editor and transcriptionist to assist Robert Bernasconi, Philosophy Faculty, including assistance with the production of two academic journals Critical Philosophy of Race and Levinas Studies. Typical duties include copy editing, printing, and organizing editorial files; working with Penn State Editorial Manager and communicating with the editorial team; transcribing papers in different languages. Qualified candidates must possess knowledge of web design and digital media, be a good communicator, be able to follow style and editorial guidelines, have a strong work ethic, and be able to meet firm deadlines. A working knowledge of Editorial Manager is desirable. Applicants must submit a cover letter and resume. Typical schedule: August-December, January-May. Typical Hours: part-time as needed, 10 hours per week, flexible. Pay rate: $10-$12/hour.
