The College of Arts and Architecture Communications Office is looking for a Marketing Communications Specialist to work broadly in the areas of content creation and editing, publicity, and digital communications. Major responsibilities of this position will include writing/developing and organizing content – including features, announcements, public interest and promotional items, and other materials – for the College of Arts and Architecture and Penn State websites and various online and print publications. Applicants must possess excellent oral and written communication skills; outstanding customer service orientation; strong social media skills; and the ability to work independently and cooperatively to develop and disseminate communications content. Experience with public/media relations or journalism is required. Fluency with MS Office applications and social media platforms (including Facebook, Twitter, and Instagram) is expected. Familiarity with Adobe Creative Suite and Drupal content management system is desirable. Typically requires a Bachelor’s degree or higher plus three years of related experience, or an equivalent combination of education and experience. Candidates should submit up to three writing samples demonstrating experience in feature and news release writing, in addition to a cover letter and resume. This is a part-time position. Hourly rate is commensurate with experience.
