Penn State IT is seeking a motivated individual to serve as a Multimedia Specialist to assist with a wide variety of digital media related to the implementation, promotion and marketing of IT projects and services. The successful candidate will work in close collaboration with IT marketing and Public Relations’ creative team to align design elements with strategic vision. Candidates must be self-motivated, detail oriented, and have a background in producing visually compelling, audience appropriate products in video, web, and print. Primary duties include assisting the team with planning, evaluating, and editing high definition digital content plus developing content for brochures, posters, signage, and educational materials as needed. Candidates should be proficient in Adobe After Effects, Illustrator, and Premiere. Candidates should be highly proficient in lighting, motion design, and digital videography. In addition, the successful candidate must be able to work in a fast-paced deadline and deliverables based environment and can work independently, as well as in a collaborative, team. Candidates will be able to meet tight deadlines, manage multiple tasks, and have a basic understanding of branding, design, and promotional communications. A portfolio or sample of candidate’s work is required as part of the application process. In addition, the ability to take direction, meet tight deadlines, manage multiple tasks, and have a basic understanding of branding, design, and promotional communications is required. Excellent verbal and written communication skills, as well as strong interpersonal and time management skills, are essential. Typically requires an Associate's degree or higher plus two years of related experience, or an equivalent combination of education and experience. Additional years experience in video production, editing and graphic design preferred. Experience working in a team-oriented, collaborative environment. A solid knowledge of the graphic design process including design and typography, production procedures and digital file preparation. Knowledge of the Adobe Creative Suite with strong proficiency in Adobe Premiere, Photoshop, Illustrator, and InDesign or equivalent software. A creative storyteller with strong communication skills, both oral and written.
