Business Systems Analyst
Reporting to the Senior Business Analyst and Quality Lead within Information Technology the Business Systems Analyst will work with the end user community to insure that strategic initiatives are properly supported through requirements gathering, stakeholder analysis, process mapping, project planning and user testing. The Business Systems Analyst will apply systems analysis concepts and principles to effectively implement business systems solutions. Essential Job Functions: Communicate in business and IT terms, effectively translating between business and IT resources; meet with stakeholders to gather and analyze information about critical business processes; document and analyzes business partner requirements and translates requirements to functional design; supports the testing and implementation of related IT solutions that meet or exceed those business requirements; in collaboration with the customer and internal IT resources, research and evaluate the fit of potential IT solutions based upon the requirements provided; assist users with user acceptance testing (UAT) and project quality control gating; work closely with systems engineers, leadership and the end user community to monitor progress and ensure all goals are consistently achieved (cost/revenue, customer, and people); provide world class customer service by capturing and being responsive to the voice of the customer through established feedback channels in order to resolve issues and drive satisfaction in accordance with the operational plan; under the guidance of leadership, gather and record metrics through continuous improvement programs/processes to measure the overall impact on the organization; Document definitions and attributes of current processes using visual diagrams, process models, process maps or other tools as appropriate; Analyze existing processes in comparison with improved or proposed processes to identify gaps and/or necessary changes; design new or improved business processes based on analysis; manage subsequent changes to improved business processes; maintain familiarity with installed software standards and procedures and evaluate other tools to determine the appropriate fit into application development; configure software systems to match stakeholder requirements; write specifications, used by developers, for automation of business processes; develop and execute test plans and execute testing to ensure desired results are achieved; support, develop or deliver communications related to implementation of new business processes. This job will be filled as a level 3, or level 4, depending upon the successful candidate's competencies, education, and experience. Typically requires a Bachelor's degree or higher plus four years of related experience, or an equivalent combination of education and experience for a level 3. Additional experience and/or education and competencies are required for higher level jobs.
