Penn State Behrend, invites applicants for a Mechanical Engineering tenure-track faculty position starting Fall 2018 at the rank of Assistant Professor. Exceptionally qualified candidates may be considered for higher rank, commensurate with experience. Candidates should be committed to excellence in undergraduate education, an active research program, and service to the university. Applied research and collaboration with local industry are highly valued as part of Penn State Behrend’s Open Lab initiative. Candidates will be expected to teach undergraduate courses and guide senior design projects in one or more of the following areas: system dynamics and controls, measurements and instrumentation, materials and manufacturing, and design. Preference will be given to candidates with the ability to work in a collaborative environment and a research program that integrates undergraduate student experiences. Candidates with prior teaching and/or industrial experience are valued. A Ph.D. in Mechanical Engineering, or a closely related field, is required.
