The College of Earth and Mineral Sciences and the John and Willie Leone Family Department of Energy and Mineral Engineering is seeking a Research Technologist 3. The successful applicant will develop, design and conduct experiments for undergraduate instruction labs, review progress and evaluate results, mentor laboratory teaching assistants in the development of technical scientific skills, train students and teaching assistants on equipment operation and research techniques, explain and demonstrate technology and equipment capabilities, operations, limitations and outcomes, manage the design of laboratory experiments, assuring quality, cost effectiveness and timeliness of assigned projects, participate in formulating experimental research methods and suggesting options for improving quality and recommending solutions. Prepare laboratory manuals summarizing the experimental methods, Coordinate data collection and screening; conduct analysis of data, train students and teaching assistants on data interpretation and analysis, Perform maintenance of laboratory equipment and coordinate activities across program areas in the department. Typically requires a Bachelor's degree or higher (Master's degree preferred) or higher plus seven years of related experience, or an equivalent combination of education and experience. This is a fixed-term appointment funded for one year from date of hire with excellent possibility of re-funding.
