Description

The Pennsylvania State University Human Resources Shared Services seeks a Recruiting and Sourcing Specialist to manage job vacancies for full-time and part-time staff, academic, and technical service positions. Duties include posting positions in the job vacancy system, and identifying potential candidates via a variety of strategies including external advertising, networking, conducting queries within resume databases, direct sourcing, research, internet recruiting, and job fairs; pre-screening applicant pools for minimum qualifications, providing salary analysis, conducting background checks, drafting offer letters, and closing positions once filled; provide guidance to hiring managers and HR professionals on recruitment policies, procedures, and best practices; investigate, analyze, and resolve recruitment-related issues; ensure compliance with University policy and applicable State and Federal laws; and investigate and resolve routine to intermediate inquiries, coordinating with respective departments and referring complex situations to appropriate contact. The position will collaborate with Talent Acquisition/ Part Time Recruiting team members to evaluate and streamline processes and develop innovative recruitment strategies to create diverse high-quality candidate pools based on current and future University needs; and develop training, communications, and presentations. Typically requires a Bachelor's degree or higher plus two years of related experience, or an equivalent combination of education and experience for a level 2. Additional experience and/or education and competencies are required for higher level jobs. This is a fixed-term appointment funded for one year from date of hire with excellent possibility of re-funding.
