Description

The Penn State Justice and Safety Institute is seeking a creative, talented and energetic Multimedia Specialist to join the curriculum development team to assist with a wide range of projects focused on graphic design and interaction development for web and print based training, software simulations for training and assistance with photography and videography for print and electronic use. Candidates must be detail oriented, creative, able to work alone and within a team, have educational or experiential background in web and graphic design, and have experience using a variety of digital equipment. The ideal candidate will have a proficiency in graphic design software platforms (Adobe Creative Suite preferred), development tools (Articulate product line, Adobe Captivate, Camtasia), proficiency in web design/development with end-user experiences in mind (CSS, HTML5), and excellent verbal and written communications skills. Strong time management and problem-solving skills are necessary. Primary duties of this position include development of interactive training materials and providing graphic design support for reports, presentations, and training products. Along with a cover letter and resume, applicants are also asked to submit no more than three examples of graphic design work (samples that reflect digital storytelling and creativity are preferred). Review of a portfolio will be required of final candidates. We seek candidates who are able to demonstrate experience and ability to advance Outreach and Online Education’s diversity initiative. Typically requires an Associate's degree or higher plus two years of related experience, or an equivalent combination of education and experience. This is a fixed-term appointment funded for one year from date of hire with excellent possibility of re-funding.
