The College of Agricultural Sciences—Penn State Extension, Clinton County, seeks to hire a 4-H Summer Intern. The Summer Intern will plan, implement, and evaluate 4-H events, programs, and projects with youth at out-of-school programs, as well as in traditional 4-H Program settings. In addition, the Summer Intern will provide support at traditional 4-H events by recording registration, conducting workshops, assisting with the management of shows and contests, and completing other tasks as assigned. The Summer Intern will assist with financial development efforts, including contacting potential donors. This position requires excellent organizational and time management skills, the ability to work independently, and the ability to plan and teach activities and educational programs. The Summer Intern works under the supervision of the Penn State Extension—Clinton County 4-H Educator. This is a 14-week position beginning in mid-May and ending in mid-August (with some flexibility depending upon availability of the applicant). Preference will be given to candidates with undergraduate coursework in education, agriculture, the sciences, or other, related fields. Previous experience with the 4-H Program or other youth development programs is preferred. This position requires the applicant to operate a motor vehicle as part of the job duties. A valid driver’s license and successful completion of a motor vehicle records check will be required in addition to standard background checks to work with minors.
