Description

The Office of Physical Plant Work Reception Center is currently seeking a highly motivated, detail oriented team player who excels in customer service. This position must demonstrate working knowledge of Office of Physical Plant (OPP) organizational structure, procedure and business processes in order to provide technical guidance and support for Facility Asset Management Programs and other OPP directives. In addition to working with OPP, this position provides direct customer service to any individual reporting problems with facilities or general requests for information for Physical Plant. In summary, the Facility Specialist 1 must possess the ability to make directed decisions based on process and procedure while communicating technical information through e-mail, in person and via phone in order to keep campus facilities and assets safe and secure. Responsibilities include, but are not limited to creating and triaging work orders within our computerized maintenance management system (Maximo), utilizing 2-way radio system to transmit and receive technician calls, provide customer assistance with internal and external work requests, follow detailed work procedures, utilize electronic calendar, process e-mail and Web based electronic work requests. This job will be required to provide off-shift and weather-related coverage. NOTE: Work hours total 40 hours over the course of Monday through Friday 7:00 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. Typically requires a High School diploma or higher plus two years of related experience, or an equivalent combination of education and experience. Experience with various computer applications including Microsoft Office (specifically Word and Excel), e-mail applications, background using customized databases.
