Description

The department of Pediatrics, division of Hematology/Oncology, is seeking to hire a faculty level Research Associate for the Miller laboratory. The Miller laboratory focuses on understanding mechanisms of pediatric cancer in order to identify potential new drug targets. Currently, the focus is on the role of the ion channel TRPM2 in tumor growth and cell survival in AML and neuroblastoma. The mechanisms include modulation of mitochondrial function, cellular bioenergetics, ROS, and autophagy. This new positon will be to perform molecular studies to determine the role of TRPM2 in modulation of cell translation including involvement of mTOR and EIF2 regulation. Experience with Western blotting, cloning, transfection, RT-PCR, fluorescent microscopy, and cell culture is required. Upload a copy of your cv and references.
