Facilities Engineer (Utility Facilities Engineer)
The Office of Physical Plant, Department of Engineering Services is seeking a Civil Engineer with knowledge or experience in utility coordination, site development, and water, wastewater, and/or stormwater utility systems. This job will be filled as a level 2, level 3, or level 4, depending upon the successful candidate's competencies, education, and experience. Typically requires a Bachelor's degree or higher in Engineering or related discipline or higher plus two years of related experience, or an equivalent combination of education and experience for a level 2. Additional experience and/or education and competencies are required for higher level jobs. Requires a Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering or related discipline preferred. The successful candidate will have experience with some or all of the following: review of and/or providing comments on design documents related to civil engineering/utilities aspects of construction projects; coordination between utility infrastructure designs; collaboration with utility engineers to identify and resolve design issues; assistance with water utility design, construction, operations and/or maintenance (water, wastewater, or stormwater); coordination with design professionals, user representatives, project managers, and technical staff on requirements for new construction, renovation, repairs and corrective measures; completion of the Fundamentals of Engineering (FE) exam or registration as a Professional Engineer is preferred. This position requires that you operate a motor vehicle as a part of your job duties. A valid driver's license and successful completion of a motor vehicle records check will be required in addition to standard background checks.
