This position is open to Penn State Abington Undergraduate Students only. The Office of Development and Alumni Relations is seeking one or more responsible, creative students for part-time, hourly work who desire to lead a visible campus project and/or gain experience working in an office environment. Students who have and/or desire leadership experience, creative writing, website management, and/or general office experience are encouraged to apply. The student worker(s) will be asked to manage the Senior Class Gift fundraising campaign in Spring, 2018. This project will provide excellent leadership and volunteer management experience by working directly with fellow students. These activities ill foster Penn State Alumni pride among seniors. The creative writing, website management, and office tasks will be related to Penn State Abington Alumni Relations and fundraising efforts, and may include: Googling names of alumni to find their current employment information; interviewing alumni and writing short profile articles for publication on the Alumni website and E-newsletters; and, providing assistance to Alumni Relations and development staff with special projects and performing basic administrative office duties. Students will learn about the fundraising profession and gain firsthand experience in the operations of an alumni relations and fundraising office. Additional responsibilities will include online researching, organizing files and supplies, handling sensitive/confidential materials, and communicating with alumni. This position is available up to 20 hours/week for Spring 2018 with possibility for summer work. Interested applicants should complete the online application.
