An Assistant Research Professor (non-tenure track) position is available immediately at The Pennsylvania State University. The successful candidate will perform research in the laboratory of Dr. Hong Ma, Professor of Biology. The candidate will have research training and experience in molecular evolutionary studies and bioinformatic analyses. Experience is gene family evolution and database construction are desirable. Publications in these and related areas will strengthen the application. The responsibility of the position includes molecular evolutionary studies of gene families with members in plant development and regulatory networks, interaction with other lab members and collaborate on genome-scale of plant genes and on comparative analyses among flowering plants and other organisms. Work may also include analysis of gene expression data and other large-scale datasets. The applicant should hold a Ph.D. in Biology or Plant Biology (Botany).
